PALM SPRINGS, CA — The CWL is pleased to announce that Ricky VanAsselberg, who led the Grand Prairie AirHogs to an American Association Championship just last week, will be returning as instructor and manager for the 2012 CWL season.

VanAsselburg has 7 championship to his name. He captured three as a player: two in college with Baptist Christian College and one with the Alexandria Aces of the Texas-Louisiana League (under CWL Instructor Stan Cliburn). VanAsselberg racked up four titles in six years as a manager including back-to-back United League titles in 2006 and 2007 with the Alexandria Aces and consecutive American Association titles with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains in 2010 and the Grand Prairie AirHogs this summer.

VanAsselberg spent last winter as the manager of the Palm Springs Chill, one of the four CWL teams from the 2011 season and one of the returning teams in an expanded 2012 CWL.
