The California Winter League put on their annual MLB work out day starting early this morning.  100 players from around the world were chomping at the bit to show their skills in front major league scouts and independent league managers.

The MLB work out day is a big reason players travel far and wide to be part of the California Winter league.  This year MLB scouts from Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks are here to see if they can spot that needle in a haystack that will help make their team better.

Independent leagues from around the nation send out their managers and coaches to the CWL so they can fill out their rosters with the best players available.

The California Winter League kicks off this Saturday, January 21 with the double headers being the norm.  The first game is scheduled for 10am and the second at 1pm.  To get more information on the California Winter League go to Californiawinterleague.com or call 760-778-HITS.
