Snowbirds@A’s

Erik Gonsalves earned his first victory of the season as he pitched five strong innings striking out five, giving up three runs as the Snowbirds beat the A’s 7-3 at Palm Springs Stadium.

Jesse Orosco followed Gonsalves by throwing a scoreless inning.  Entiquio Chapa also posted a scoreless inning to help move the Snowbirds to 6-5 on the season.

The third inning proved to be the difference for the Snowbirds offense as they plated five runs.  Tobi Adeyemi drove in one run, Kevin Deese singled and drove in two, Todd Alls brought in another with a sacrifice fly, and Marquise Hall wrapped up the rally with an RBI single.

Bluesox@Power

Charles Nading struck out a season-high twelve batters in only five and a third innings of shutout work in the second game of a double header as the Power blanked the Bluesox 9-0 at Palm Springs Stadium. 

Nading, who became the first CWL pitcher to reach double-digits in strikeouts, started his outing by giving up back-to-back hits. He then clamped down to strike out the side.  Nading also struck out the side in the second in a three up, three down inning.  Nading’s win moves his record to 2-1 on the season and the Power are now 9-2 on the year.  Jeremy Hall pitched four innings for the Bluesox, striking out seven batters in four innings to suffer the loss.  The five pitchers in today’s game combined for 22 strikeouts in 57 total at-bats.

Trevor Willis led the Powers offense raking up two hits, two runs and two RBI on the day.
