Power@A’s

Casey Fry was dominant in relief as the Power defeated the A’s 12-4 at Palm Springs Stadium Wednesday morning.  Fry earned the win by throwing three innings, striking out seven while facing only ten batters.

The A’s started the scoring in the second with Michael Wallace’s inside the park home run.  The rally continued when Michael Cross and Matthew Dunn both singled to put runners on first and third.  With Jack Waterman at the plate the A’s put on the double steal with Dunn taking second and Cross stealing home to put the A’s up 2-0.

The Power offense came to life in the fifth.  Seven consecutive Power batters reached base with the inning being highlighted by a three-run triple off the bat of Yasutsugu Nishimoto.  Patrick Howe followed the Nishimoto triple with one of his own to drive in the run and tie the game up at four.  The inning stayed alive for the Power when Matthew Frederick singled to drive home Howe from third to put them up 5-4.

The Power rallied for six more tallies in the sixth to help them secure the victory.
