The British Columbia Bombers (2-3) edged the Washington Bluesox (2-3) 4-3 to open Thursday’s play at Palm Springs Stadium. Justin Vasquez belted a RBI in the bottom of the sixth to tie it at 3-3, but it wasn’t meant to be for the Bluesox as game-winning RBI was recorded by Adam Jones via a fielder’s choice in the top of the seventh inning that spoiled the comeback. Despite the loss Chris Winder added a two-RBI triple. Justin Rich earned his second save in as many days.

The Canada A’s (0-5) blew a 6-1 lead in the second game as the Oregon Lumber Jacks (3-2) scored 11 runs in the final two frames to snatch a 12-6 victory. Michael Bolling led the way with four RBI. Eight different Lumber Jack players scored runs. In a losing effort both Brian Bistagne and Taylor Jockers played well as they each reached base three times in four plate appearances.

Finally, the Palm Springs Power (3-2) hung on against the Palm Springs Chill (2-3) 4-3. Devon Pearson struck out six in just three innings to pick up the win. The game was sloppy as the two squads combined to make eight errors. The Chill threatened as they had the tying run at second base in the bottom of the seventh but Hiroshi Senda would strikeout to end the contest.
