Baseball America recently did a story on the success the California Winter League has had over the years. It mentions how the CWL is a great place for guys to be seen by current independent coaches and scouts from MLB teams. It also states that in years past, about half of CWL players signed contracts with pro teams, most of them independent clubs whose managers they’ve played in front of all season.
