Blue Sox vs Rush

In the first game at the main stadium, the Washington Bluesox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against the Toronto Rush. The Rush then got 2 runs in the third on a Seth Neely double. A scoring drought lasted through the 4th and 5th, until the Rush came back in the bottom of the 6th, rallying for four runs, capped off by a Tyler Caserta two-RBI double. The Rush would hang on to win, 6-3.

Bombers vs Haymakers

In the second and final game at the main stadium, Griffin Jones was brilliant for the British Columbia Bombers, allowing just one hit over four scoreless innings against the Midwest Haymakers, while striking out eight batters. Marc Rutledge came on in relief and struck out four over two innings. Kenta Nishii went 3-for-4 with four RBI, including a three-run double. The Bombers were in control all game, and won by a final score of 11-0.

A’s vs Snowbirds

At the auxiliary field, Steve Rasmussen gave up runs early for the Canada A’s, but settled down and went five strong innings. The A’s offense compiled 11 hits, a walk and four RBI. The highlight for the Snowbirds was a five-run first inning, which included a home run by Michael Olson and a triple by Nick Cuckovich. The A’s would go on to win, 9-7.

Chill vs Grizzly

In the other game at the auxiliary field, the scoring began in the 1st inning, when a Tyler Marshburn RBI single scored Jalen Harris from third. The Grizzly would add another run in the 3rd before the Chill responded with a run in the 4th to cut the lead in half…But the Grizzly pulled away in the 4th, when Brandon Tierney’s 2-run double stretched the Grizzly lead to three. The Grizzly never looked back from there, holding the Chill to just one run through the last three innings. Juan Espinosa pitched 3 innings, striking out three and getting the win. The Grizzly won, 6-2.
