Alberta Grizzly v. Midwest Haymakers

On the auxiliary field this morning, the Grizzly jumped out to an early 2-0 lead capped off by a Chris Matthews RBI double. They would not look back, as Greg Dubela went five shutout innings, striking out one with no walks. The Grizzly would go on and cruise to a 7-1 victory, improving to 2-2 on the season while the Haymakers are still winless (0-3) on the season.

Toronto Rush v. Palm Springs Power

At the high school field, the Palm Springs Power immediately jumped out in front of the Rush with a four-hit, four-run first inning. Errors in the field plagued the Toronto Rush early on as they totaled three errors on the day. On the mound for the Power, Michael Fabrizio and Brett Mabry racked up nine strikeouts and combined for a no-hitter, defeating the Rush 5-0.

British Columbia Bombers v. Oregon Lumberjacks

The BC Bombers jumped out to a quick start, grabbing the lead in the first inning thanks to RBI singles by Bryce Taylor and Brendan Slattery. The Lumberjacks could not get the bats going against starter Roberto Padilla who was perfect through three. The Bomber bullpen was sharp as well as Max Schonfeld and Marc Rutledge went 3 2/3 innings, giving up one run. British Columbia got the win 4-1, and has won three straight (3-1 overall) while the Lumberjacks fall to 1-2 on the season.

Canada A’s v. Washington Blue Sox

Box Score

The A’s took an early lead at Palm Springs Stadium in the afternoon game after a bases clearing double by Johnnie Dayton. However the four run first was the only good to come from the game for the A’s as Chris Rogers went four scoreless innings in relief. The Blue Sox offense scored 8 runs through the first three innings as they went on to win 8-4 and improved to 2-1 on the season as The A’s fell to .500 at 2-2 with the loss.
