Canada A’s 6 – Midwest Haymakers 3

The Canada A’s (4-2) jumped out early on the Midwest Haymakers (0-6) with two runs in the first. They added a few more throughout and were led by great pitching. The haymakers gave a scare in the seventh with two runs, but could not overcome the deficit as they fell, 6-3.

British Columbia Bombers 1 – Palm Springs Chill 0

Pitching dominated Auxiliary Field #2 as the British Columbia Bombers defeated the Palm Springs Chill, 1-0 on Wednesday morning.

Bombers’ (4-1-1) starter Max Schonfeld (1-0) got out of an early jam in the first, allowing just one hit through his five innings of work, striking out four.

Chill (2-4) starter Ryusuke Kikusawa was just as effective for Palm Springs, striking out 10 bombers through four innings and allowing just two hits.

British Columbia would break through in the fifth after Felix DeJesus reached base to lead off the inning.

DeJesus would advance to second and Deaun Williams singled him home to give the Bombers the lone run of the game.

Roberto Padilla earned his first save, pitching the final two innings and striking out two.

Coachella Valley Snowbirds 6 – Washington Blue Sox 3

In the first game at the main stadium, the Washington Blue Sox (2-3-1) used an RBI groundout by C.J. Henry and a Thurman Hall two-RBI double to jump out to a 3-0 first-inning lead against the Coachella Valley Snowbirds (2-4). But the Snowbirds stormed back with a four-run rally in the second inning and added two more runs in the fifth. Nick Cuckovich went 3-for-4, driving in two runs and scoring two.

Kyle Redinger (1-0) overcame a rough first inning for Coachella Valley and settled down to post three shutout innings to get the win. Michael Kershner and Ryan Bunger combined for three shutout innings in relief, as the Snowbirds won, 6-3.

Toronto Rush 6 – Alberta Grizzly 2

In the final game at Palm Springs Stadium, the Alberta Grizzly (3-2) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning on an error and an RBI single by A.J. Jusino. But the Toronto Rush (3-2) followed with three runs in the bottom half of the inning and never looked back. Chris Bachman scored two runs, stole a base and added a base hit, and the Rush won, 6-2.
