Snowbirds 4 – Rush 2

Coachella Valley jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Alan Cheatham hit an RBI single to score Michael Olson. The Rush came back to tie it up at one thanks to Jeremy Legania’s hit. The Snowbirds took the lead back with a two RBI double by Tim Quinn, going up 3-1, and that was all they needed. Andrew Brooks pitched his first game for the Snowbirds, going three innings and took the win. Josh Graves also pitched his first game, going two innings and recording the save. The Snowbirds improve to 3-4 in the CWL and the Rush drop one, falling to 4-3.

A’s 7 – Bombers 0

It was a rough day at the ballpark for the British Columbia Bombers as the A’s were clicking on all cylinders. The bats were hot as Larry Balkwill (two 2B), Chad Bunting (1B, HR) and Ryan Deitrich (2B, HR) led the way. On the mound, Cameron Giannini dominated with a complete game shutout, giving up just one hit to the Bombers’ Deaun Williams. The Bombers fall to 4-2-1 as the A’s jump them in the standings, improving to 5-2.

Lumberjacks 5 – Grizzly 5

The Oregon Lumberjacks (2-3-1) rallied late and scored three runs in the seventh to force a tie with the Alberta Grizzly (3-3-1). Danniel Martinez and John Dorgan led off the bottom of the inning with singles before Tillman Pugh’s RBI single cut the Grizzly lead to two. Matt Burns followed that up with a 2-run double to tie it up. Greg Dubela was able to get out of the jam with putouts of Scott Fabre and Nate Antone to end the game, as Dubela went all seven innings for the Grizzly.

Power 10 – Chill 2

Box Score

In a showdown of the two Palm Springs teams, the Chill took an early lead, but it did not last long. The Power responded with six runs in the bottom of the first, all with two outs. Starting pitcher Chris Lovejoy settled in after the first to go a few innings for PSP. The Power continued to pour on the runs with a team effort at the plate. With the win, the Power remain as the only unbeaten team in the CWL as they improve to 6-0, while the Chill fall to 2-5 on the season.
