Midwest Haymakers 4 — Coachella Valley Snowbirds 3
On the turf field, the Coachella Valley Snowbirds got out to a one-run, first-inning lead against the Midwest Haymakers. But the Haymakers scored a run of their own in the bottom half, then added three runs in the third inning, including a two-RBI double by Brandon Tierney. The Haymakers came out on top with a final score of 4-3.
Washington Blue Sox 13 — Alberta Grizzly 5
At Auxiliary Field 2, both the Washington Blue Sox and the Alberta Grizzly had early offense with three runs each in the first inning. Jordan Caillouet put the Blue Sox up two runs in the top of the third with an RBI double. The Sox broke the game open in the fourth inning on a three-run homer by C.J. Henry, then tacked on three more in the fifth. Justin Martinez struck out five in two innings of relief for the Blue Sox, who went on to win, 13-5.
Palm Springs Chill 0, Oregon Lumberjacks 0
In the first game at the main stadium, the Palm Springs Chill and the Oregon Lumberjacks engaged in a scoreless standoff. Elliott Engle tossed five shutout innings for the Jacks, allowing just three hits. Jimmy Topps had two of those hits for the Chill, who left a total of six runners on base. Chill pitchers Ryusuke Kikusawa and Keita Komi combined for a no-hitter, as the game ended in a scoreless tie.
Canada A’s 3, Palm Springs Power 2
The final game at the main stadium featured a close contest between the Canada A’s and the Palm Springs Power. Pitcher Chris Lovejoy gave up three runs on seven hits over four innings of work for the Power, including a solo homer by the A’s Michael Skoller in the fourth inning. Drew Bradshaw allowed just two runs over five innings for the A’s, giving his team the win, 3-2.
