Toronto Rush 8 – Washington Blue Sox 4

The first game of the day on the Auxiliary Turf Field saw the Rush taking on the Blue Sox with both teams sitting right in the middle of the standings. The Rush scored 5 runs in the first 2 innings capped off by a 2-RBI double by Seth Neely. The Blue Sox rallied in the fourth inning by scoring 4 runs all with 2 outs to cut the lead to 6-4, but Toronto’s Tyler Caserta added a two out, 2-RBI single in the 5th as the Rush cruised to a big 8-4 victory and improve their record to 6-7 while the Blue Sox are now 4-6-1.

Midwest Haymakers 2 – Oregon Lumberjacks 3

Over on Auxiliary Field 2, the Jacks would jump out to an early 3-0 lead led by a triple and a run scored by Tillman Pugh. Oregon starter Elliot Engle pitched 5 shutout innings, but The Haymakers Brandon Tierney launched a 2-run HR off of reliever Cody Rocha to cut the lead to just one run in the bottom of the 6th. The Jacks would prevail and secure the 3-2 win. The Haymakers win streak ends as they are now 5-7 while the Jacks jump up to 4-5-2.

Coachella Valley Snowbirds 6 – Palm Springs Power 4

In the morning game at the Stadium, The Power came in on top of the CWL standings, but the Snowbirds were ready to play. The Birds took the lead early, and every time the Power tried to chip away at the lead, Coachella Valley would respond with runs of their own. The Power’s Victor Ferrante hit a huge home run in the 5th inning but the Snowbirds had big games from Ethan Szabo who went 3-4 with a double and Manny Cardeiro, who also had a big homerun to dead center field, his second in as many games, respectively, as they defeated the Power 6-4. Coachella Valley improved to 5-7 and the Power fell to 9-3.

BC Bombers 3 – Palm Springs Chill 6

The final game of the day in the stadium featured the Chill and Bombers in a back and forth battle. The Bombers took the lead early 2-0 through 3 innings but the Chill would fight back with some small ball to get some timely hits with a huge 4 run 6th inning including a big 2 out hit by Steven Sunday to take the lead. Ryoma Watanabe and Kyosuke Yamada each had 2 hits for the Chill while Jimmy Topps and Yamada each had two runs scored in the 6-3 win. The Chill improved to 3-8-1 while the Bombers fell to 7-5-1.
