Palm Springs Chill 7 – Palm Springs Power 2

Game one on the auxiliary field was a local showdown, with the Chill hosting the Power. The chill took an early four to nothing after three. The Power would respond with a few runs of their own, cutting the deficit in half. The Chill stepped up and continued to pour on the runs, eventually beating the Power in an upset, splitting the season series. The Chill improve to 4-8-1, while the Power move to 10-4.

Midwest Haymakers 9 – Coachella Valley Snowbirds 3

The first game at Palm Springs stadium featured a matchup of the Midwest Haymakers and the Coachella Valley Snowbirds. The Haymakers had a great start from their pitcher Nathaniel Roe, who went three perfect innings. They carried their lead into the late innings over the Snowbirds, where they exploded for six more runs. The Haymakers went on to win the game nine to three, getting their sixth win of the season. The Snowbirds fell to 5-9 on the year.

Washington Blue Sox 4 – Oregon Lumberjacks 4

Box Score

The final game of the stadium had the Washington Blue Sox face off with the Oregon Lumberjacks. The Blue Sox took an early lead, but the Lumberjacks dropped a three spot highlighted by a Tillman Pugh leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first. The Blue Sox came back with a homerun of their own off the bat of Taylor Eichhorst in the third and tied the game up at four. The game would go scoreless the rest of the way, finishing in a tie. The Blue Sox are now 4-7-2 and the Lumberjacks are 5-5-3.

 

Tomorrow is the final regular season day of games for the 2015 CWL with all ten teams playing, followed by a workout day Wednesday and the playoffs starting Thursday.

The Schedule for February 10th:

9 AM at Auxiliary field two: The Power host the Grizzly

9:30 AM at Palm Springs Stadium: The Toronto Rush host the Toronto Chill

10:00 AM on Auxiliary Field one: the Lumberjacks host the Blue sox in a rematch of today’s game

At noon at the stadium: the snowbirds host the bombers.

Finally, at 2:30 at the stadium, the haymakers will square off with the Canada A’s

Also on Tuesday, February 10th, is 2-for-Tuesday. It’s two-for-one admission, along with two dollar drinks, beers and hot dogs.
