Since the California Winter League had become the official winter league of the Frontier League in 2015, the Frontier League has signed over 94 players directly out of our league to go play professionally for their teams (you can view a list of signings from the 2016 season by clicking here).

Not only have players received an opportunity to play professionally in the Frontier League, but the CWL alumni have excelled at that level.

Last season Brandon Tierney (Frontier Greys) won Rookie of the Year honors and Michael Hur (Rockford Aviators) was named 2015 Frontier League All-Star MVP.

This year is no different with Mike Jurgella (River City Rascals) was named a post season All-Star and Luke Barker (Traverse City Beach Bums) was runner-up in the Frontier League Rookie of the Year race. You can read about them and all of the Frontier League award announcements here.

Congratulations to them and all of the CWL alumni who had successful professional seasons in 2016!

Registration is open for the 2017 CWL season. For more information e-mail CWL GM Pete Wagoner at pwagoner@californiawinterleague.com or call (760) 778-HITS [4487].
