PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – J.D. Little has signed a professional contract overseas with the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers, a professional baseball club in Austria.

Little earned this opportunity by staying in contact with CWL instructor, Casey Dill, after the California Winter League concluded earlier in February. Instructor Dill heard about a professional opportunity overseas and contacted Little about potentially playing for the Grasshoppers.

Shortly after I departed Casey Dill shot me a text message asking if I would be interested in playing in Austria because they needed a pitcher. I told him I was very interested and was contacted by the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers with a contract offer. I have accepted their offer and will be playing the 2017 season with them in Austria. I would like to thank the CWL for the exposure that the league gave me. Most of all, I would like to thank Casey Dill for his efforts personally in helping me to get signed. Thank you all for your efforts in helping players like me to get signed. It has a tremendous impact on all of our lives. – J.D. Little

Little had a strong showing during the 2017 CWL season, posting a sparkling 1.59 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 22 innings while pitching for the Oregon Lumberjacks.

The CWL would like to wish J.D. success overseas while playing for the Grasshoppers.
