CWL Field Coordinator
Moss has served as the Field Coordinator of the CWL since 2013 and has been a special assignment scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has worked for the Dodgers since 2009 and was asked to participate on the Amateur Selection Committee for USA Baseball. As a player, Moss played eight seasons of MLB affiliated ball with the Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays.
CWL Pitching Coordinator
Frisbie returns in his second season as CWL Pitching Coordinator in 2023, first serving in that role in 2019. James briefly served as Field Coordinator in 2021 before joining the Detroit Tigers as their left-handed batting practice specialist. Frisbie has six years of managerial experience and in December 2022 was named manager of the Pioneer League’s Grand Junction Jackalopes for 2023.
CWL Hitting Coordinator
Brown makes his way back to the CWL after last serving as Hitting Coordinator in 2019 and is currently the manager of the Ottawa Titans in the Frontier League. Bobby has 20+ years of professional baseball experience as a player coach, scout and manager. He played in the Kansas City Royals organization in 1997 before following a similar path that CWL players take, heading to the Frontier League in 1998 where he posted career highs in batting average (.363), home runs (9) and RBI (63) with the Canton Crocodiles. 2023 will be his eighth season with the CWL.
Cliburn is the manager of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the Atlantic League. He managed the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, the Rochester Red Wings, from 2006-09 and has also managed in the Arizona Fall League. In 2021, Stan was named the Atlantic League Manager of the Year following a Blue Crabs return to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. 2023 is Stan’s 10th CWL season.
Vaeth manages the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League and has held that position since 2021. In his first season, he led the Wild Things to a 50-46 record and a Frontier League Championship appearance and earned a four-year contract extension that will keep Vaeth in Washington through 2025. Prior to this, Tom spent 17 years in the Winnipeg Goldeyes organization of the American Association.
Noce is the Field Coordinator for the USPBL and 2023 will be his second season in that role. Paul previously served as the Manager for the Eastside Diamond Hoppers from 2016 until stepping down in 2022 to accept his current Field Coordinator position. Paul has been in the game professionally for over 35 years, including two Major League stints as a player with the Chicago Cubs (1987) and the Cincinnati Reds (1990).
Jimmy "JJ" Johnson
JJ managed the Grand Junction Rockies (now Jackalopes) of the Pioneer League in 2022. He is currently the Director of Scouting for the Boise Hawks. Johnson’s resume includes hitting coach for Team China in the 2017 World Baseball Classic as well as Hitting Coordinator for the Colorado Rockies from 2002-2012.
Dill is the Player Procurement Coordinator for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association. He has scouted and recruited hundreds of professional baseball players. Casey also serves as Commissioner of the Power Summer Collegiate League and Manager of the Palm Springs Power.
Roth returns to the CWL for his 8th season. Cam was named Pitching Coach for the Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League for 2023. He played in the Orioles organization before becoming a coach, most recently as Manager of the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League, where he was named Manager of the Year in 2019.
Rusch is the Manager for Les Aigles de Trois-Rivieres of the Frontier League where he has served since 2022. Matt served as Pitching Coach for the Aigles from 2016 until being named Manager in 2022. Rusch is a former minor league pitcher, spending five seasons in the Detroit Tigers organization and a sixth season in the Boston Red Sox organization.
Lemieux was named Manager of the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League in October 2022. Jared spent the last two seasons coaching with the New Jersey Jackals and has played or coached professional baseball since 2006. 2023 is Lemieux’s first CWL season.
Incaviglia serves as the 3B/Hitting Coach for the Tri City ValleyCats in the Frontier League. Thomas has experience playing in the American Association and is being mentored by his Uncle, Pete Incaviglia, who has over 40 years of professional baseball experience. 2023 will be his second season as a CWL instructor.
Kloppe is a former 2013 CWL player who currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League. Bryan has managed in Australia at the pro level and coached in the USPBL. 2023 will be Kloppe’s first season as a CWL instructor.
