Palm Springs Power 6 – British Columbia Bombers 3

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.—The Palm Springs Power rallied for five runs in the final two innings to put away the British Columbia Bombers, 6-3, Wednesday morning at Auxiliary Field #1.

The Bombers (6-4-1) jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning, but couldn’t muster any offense after that point.

Palm Springs (8-2) pulled within a run when Daniel Baptista singled home Richard Mejia in the fifth inning.

The Power scraped across four runs in the seventh to pull away from the Bombers en route to the victory.

 

Canada A’s 9 – Palm Springs Chill 7

Box Score

The Canada A’s hopped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, but the Palm Springs Chill would not go away quietly, responding with six runs of their own in the fourth to tie the game.

Canada (9-2) answered with a run of its own in the bottom-half of the fourth when Yuki Yasuda scored to put the A’s back on top.

Palm Springs (2-8-1) would tack on another run in the fifth, but Canada’s offense added two more runs in the seventh to seal the victory.

 

Alberta Grizzly 13 – Coachella Valley Snowbirds 7

Box Score

The Alberta Grizzly raced out to an early 8-0 lead after the first innings and never looked back.

Coachella Valley (4-6) answered with all seven of its runs coming during innings three, four and five, but Alberta (5-5-1) collected three more runs in the sixth to keep the Grizzly at bay.

Manny Cardeiro’s second home run of the season for the Snowbirds came in the fifth inning and brought Coachella Valley within five and started a three-run frame. However, reliever Eli Nickell would keep the game manageable on the way to the Grizzly win.

 

Oregon Lumberjacks 4 – Toronto Rush 3

Box Score

A pitcher’s duel between Brent Choban and Zach Wendorf ended in wild fashion as the Oregon Lumberjacks held on for a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Rush.

Choban took a perfect game into the fifth before giving up an infield single to Mike Falsetti. The left-handed starter retired Derek Ward on a fly out, but Max Désy reached on an error extend the inning for the Rush, scoring Falsetti and cutting the ‘Jacks lead to 2-1.

Manny Gasper walked and Alex Johnson doubled in both runners to give the Rush the 3-2 advantage.

Oregon (3-4-2) was quick to respond off of reliever Matt St. Kitts with a two-run sixth.

Matt Burns was hit by a pitch and stole second to start the frame. Brad Gerig walked and Andre’ McKoy reached on an error to bring in Burns.

Tillman Pugh singled home Gerig to retake the lead for the Lumberjacks.

John Fageaux earned his second save of the season with a 1-2-3 seventh.
