2026 California Winter League Instructors

Moss has served as the CWL Field Coordinator since 2013 and has been a Special Assignment Scout with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has worked for the Dodgers since 2009 and was asked to serve on the Amateur Selection Committee for USA Baseball. As a player, Moss played eight seasons of MLB affiliated ball with the Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays.

Casey Dill’s first season as a manager was in 2012, and since then he has become a full-time member of the CWL and Power Baseball staff as Director of Baseball Operations. He has also been a scout with the Torontor Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves and currently serves as a scout for the Washington Wild Things in the Frontier League.

Cliburn is the manager of the Chicago Dogs in the American Association. He previously managed the Triple-A Affililiate of the Minnesota Twins, the Rochester Red Wings, from 2006-2009 and has also managed in the MLB Arizona Fall League. In 2021, he was named Atlantic League Manager of the Year while with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. 2026 is Stan’s thirteenth California Winter League season.

Noce currently serves, once again, as the Manager of the Eastside Diamond Hoppers in the United Shores Professional Baseball League. Noce was the Eastside manager from 2016-2021 before becoming the USPBL’s Field Coordinator. He has been in the game for over 35 years including two MLB stints as a player with the Cubs and Reds. 2026 is Paul’s 8th CWL season. 

JJ currently serves as the Director of Scouting for the Boise Hawks in the Pioneer League. Johnson previously managed the Grand Junction Rockies. Johnson played seven seasons in the Houston Astros’ organization and has managed and been a coordinator at the minor league level. He was the hitting coordinator for Team China at the 2017 World Baseball Classic and served as the hitting coordinator for the Colorado Rockies from 2002-2012.

Brown returns to the CWL for his eleventh season in 2026. Bobby has over 25 years of professional baseball experience as a player, coach, scout and manager. He played for the Kansas City Royals organization in 1997 before playing in the Frontier League in 1998 where he hit .363 with 9 home runs and 63 RBI with Canton. Brown currently manages the Ottawa Titans in the Frontier League.

Aaron Miles currently manages the Oakland Ballers in the Pioneer League. In 2025, Miles and the Ballers set the league’s single season wins record and claimed the Pioneer League Championship. Miles had a 9 year Major League career as a second baseman, including a World Series championship with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009. 2026 marks his second season with the CWL.

Jared Lemieux was named Manager of the Lake Erie Crushers for the 2023 season, with 2026 marking his fourth year with the club. Previously, Lemieux was on the coaching staff of the New Jersey Jackals. 2026 is Lemieux’s fourth season managing at the California Winter League.

Garry joins the CWL with an impressive resume, currently serving as the hitting coach for the Modesto Roadsters (Pioneer League) and previously coaching with the Idaho Falls Chukars. With additional experience as a scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Garry brings a wealth of professional insight to his first season managing in the CWL. He is the son of Padres great Garry Templeton Sr.

Kyle Gaudele enters 2026 as the new Manager of the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League. Gaudele joined the Grizzlies’ coaching staff full-time in 2025 as the team’s Hitting Coach. He was also a player-coach in 2023 and 2024 and spent time in the San Diego Padres system as a player. 2026 is Gaudele’s first year managing in the CWL.

Rolando Garza is a Pitching Coach in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization after serving as the Pitching Coach for Long Beach State in 2025, the Fresno Grizzlies (SF Giants – A) in 2024 and previously as a Pitching Coordinator in the Tampa Bay Rays system from 2020-2023. He brings a wealth of pitching knowledge to his first season with the CWL and will be working with the league’s pitchers.
