Pitching dominated the opening game of the day at the Auxiliary Field between the Alberta Grizzly and the Midwest Haymakers. Greg Dubela tossed a complete-game shutout for the Grizzly, his second complete game of the season. He also did not allow a runner past second base, and got help from a second-inning, two-run homer by T.J. Singh, and the Grizzly beat the Haymakers, 4-0.

Palm Springs Chill 5 – Washington Blue Sox 2

Box Score

In the first game at the main stadium, the Palm Springs Chill played small ball to jump out to a three-run lead in the first inning against the Washington Blue Sox. Fourth-inning RBI singles by Vincent Lawrence and Thurman Hall would be the only two runs the Blue Sox could manage. The Chill added two runs in the fifth and came out on top, 5-2.
