Here is a little info on just a few of the 2013 CWL alumni & how they are doing. Pitchers Brett Anderson (Texas Rangers) and Bobby Hillier (Arizona Diamondbacks) are both finishing their team’s extended spring training. Hillier is on his way to the Hillsboro (Oregon) Hops, the team’s Class A affiliate. Anderson will be placed in the Ranger’s minor league system but is waiting to see which location it will be.

CWL standouts Ray Hernandez (IF) of the Rockford Aviators and Andrew Brauer (OF) of the Windy City Thunderbolts are both leading their Frontier League teams in hitting with a .389 and .333 clip respectively. Hernandez’s teammate, and CWL alum, Josh Schneider is performing well on the bump for the Aviators as well. Coming into Saturday’s action, Schneider is 3rd on the team with a 1.74 ERA while striking out 9 in 10 innings of work. Meanwhile, the Washington Wild Thing’s Maxx Garrett has seen his playing time increase as he’s leading all catchers on the team with a .273 average. The Wild Things, managed by CWL instructor Bart Zeller, are leading the Frontier League with a 9-4 record.

The CWL would like to congratulate these, and all former alums who are pursuing their dream of playing professional baseball.
