Chris Pfau, who played in the 2014 California Winter League season, signed with the Heiloo Double Stars of the Netherlands professional baseball league, Overgangsklasse.

Pfau played for the Washington BlueSox of the CWL in 2014 and posted great strikeout totals (24 strikeouts in 16.2 innings). While he didn’t get signed during the CWL season, he remained in contact with CWL Instructor, Casey Dill, who passed his information onto the Heiloo Double Stars. The team was in need of a left-handed pitcher and signed Pfau immediately.

Pfau made his debut with the club in April and tossed a complete game, two-hitter with 20 strikeouts and only one walk. He went on to have a dominant season with the Double Stars, accumulating a 2.24 ERA with 177 strikeouts over 120.2 innings and leading the team to their first playoff birth in franchise history.

Pfau pitched so well that the Double Stars have already signed him for the 2015 season.

The California Winter League would like to wish Pfau continued success in his post-CWL career overseas.
