The Arizona Diamondbacks announced on Tuesday that they will be purchasing the contract of outfielder Scott Kalamar from the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League.

Kalamar participated in the 2014 California Winter League season, signing with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League following the conclusion of the season.

Kalamar had a breakout year with Washington in 2014, batting .300 with nine home runs and 48 RBI. His numbers were so stellar in this past season, that he came in at #6 on the CWL Top-10 Alumni Performances of 2014 (click HERE for the Top-10 CWL Alumni Performances of 2014). He performed so well in the CWL and during his tenure with the Wild Things, that the Arizona Diamondbacks purchased his contract.

Kalamar is expected to report to the Diamondbacks’ Class-A affiliate come spring training.
