Canada A’s vs. Oregon Lumberjacks

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- The first game of the day between the A’s and the Lumbejacks took place on auxiliary field number one.  The Lumberjacks were able to jump out to an early 2-0 lead off a two-RBI single by first baseman Ryan Moriarty. The two teams would then exchange leads before drawing even at 4-4 heading into the seventh inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning, A’s right fielder Ryan Deitrich came up with the walk-off single as the Canada A’s defeated the Oregon Lumberjacks 5-4.

Palm Springs Chill vs. Washington Bluesox

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- The second game on auxiliary field number two featured the Palm Springs Chill and the Washington Bluesox. The Chill jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning as the Bluesox pitching staff struggled to find the strike zone.  Thurman Hall would hit a two-run homerun in the seventh inning but it would be too little, too late as the Chill cruised to an 8-2 victory. The Chill improve to 2-3 on the season as the Bluesox fall to 2-2-1.

Palm Springs Power vs. Midwest Hayakers

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- The morning game at Palm Springs Stadium was between the Palm Springs Power and the Midwest Haymakers. The Power continue to dominate early on in the California Winter League season as they put up three runs in the second inning, five in the third and three more in the seventh as they defeat the Haymakers 12-5. The Haymakers drop to 0-5 on the season and the Power remain undefeated at 5-0.

Alberta Grizzly vs. Coachella Valley Snowbirds

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- The afternoon game at Palm Springs Stadium featured a great back-and-forth matchup all afternoon between the Snowbirds and the Grizzly. The Snowbirds were trailing 2-0 heading into the third inning when outfielder Michael Olson came up with the bases loaded and smashed a grand slam over the left field wall to give the Snowbirds a 4-2 lead. However, the Grizzly tacked on 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning that gave them an 8-7 lead and they were able to hang on in the seventh inning to improve to 3-2 overall as the Snowbirds fall to 1-4 on the season.
