Tom Vaeth, Manager, Washington Wild Things

Tom Vaeth returns to manage in the California Winter League in 2022. Vaeth took over the reins in Washington in the Frontier League in 2021, managing the Wild Things to an appearance in the Frontier League Championship. Prior to managing the Wild Things, Vaeth was the hitting coach for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association, a position he held for 17 seasons. 2021 was his full-time managerial debut at the professional level, although he had filled in as manager roughly 100 times in Winnipeg when needed.

Vaeth will be looking to sign CWL players for his 2022 Wild Things roster during his 4th stint in the CWL. Vaeth has previously managed the Toronto Rush in the CWL and will be managing a team once again. The 2022 CWL season runs from January 19th through February 16th in Palm Springs, CA. The goal of the CWL is to get free agent players signed to a pro contract before spring training begins. The 2022 CWL coaching staff will feature current MLB scouts and professional managers from the 4 MLB partner leagues as well as the USPBL who will all be looking to sign players for their organizations. Registration is now open for the 2022 California Winter League. Players with college or professional experience can lock in a roster spot and guaranteed playing time by registering at californiawinterleague.com/join.
