Palm Springs, CA – Today’s affairs began with a pitchers duel on the turf field as the Palm Springs Chill (2-4) nudged out a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Rush (3-3). Shi-Hao Tung picked up his second win of the season after six stellar innings of one run ball. Tung struck out nine Rush hitters, and allowed just three hits. Hyun Woo Kim paced the offense for the Chill, going one-for-two, with a walk, a run batted in, and two stolen bases. For the Rush, McCoy Pearce, went two-for-two in the loss, including a solo home run in the 4th inning.

The Oregon Lumberjacks (4-2) won their third straight contest this morning with a 6-3 victory over the Manitoba North Stars (2-3-1). Oregon took the lead with a three spot in the bottom of the 3rd inning and never looked back. Both Luke Churchill and Jalen Reece of the Lumberjacks drove in a pair of runs in the winning effort. North Stars right fielder, Chih-Hao Tu, had himself a three-hit ballgame, and drove in a run in the loss.

Thursday’s finale was a game of crooked numbers. The Palm Springs Power (3-2) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, scoring a run in the second inning, followed by three runs in the third. The offense came on a few wild pitches and an RBI single by Jalen Greer. The British Columbia Bombers (2-3-1) would scratch across a run in the home fourth, on a Harrison Fullerton single. The Power would tack on three more runs in the sixth inning on a passed ball, a wild pitch, and yet another Jalen Greer RBI base hit. The Bombers offense would erupt in the bottom half of the sixth inning, as a bases-clearing double by Matthew Holliday would cap off a six run frame, tying the game up at seven. Power first baseman Taylor Meaux would double with two outs in the top of the last and later score on a passed ball to take an 8-7 lead, which would be the final score.
