Palm Springs, Calif. – To start a fresh week of California Winter League (CWL) baseball, the Manitoba North Stars defeated the Oregon Lumberjacks 6-0 on Palm Springs’ turf field. The win pushed the North Stars record to 4-0, keeping them as the only undefeated squad of the eight in the CWL. Manitoba starter Noah Burkey struck out five Jacks and earned a win with 4.2 innings pitched. Center fielder Khyle Radcliffe leadoff the order and finished with an RBI double and a walk. Second baseman Dalton Thomas was productive, as well, reaching base three times and driving in two. While many Jacks batters struggled against Burkey and reliever Brady Chavez, Juan Garcia doubled to right-center field in the fourth inning. The North Stars will test their undefeated record against the Bombers at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Palm Springs Stadium. The Lumberjacks are off Tuesday but return to play the A’s at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Washington Blue Sox and Canada A’s were the first matchup at Palm Springs Stadium on Monday in a game where the 2-1 Blue Sox were coming off their first loss of the season. Washington took home a convincing 8-4 win improving to 3-1, making the A’s 1-3 on the season. David Peterson sent Nathan Labeau out on the mound to face off against Dominick Castillo. Both starters provided solid work with Labeau and Castillo getting through the mid innings and turning it over to the bullpen in a tied game. The Blue Sox bats broke through in the late innings with four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth before Ben Des Rosiers and Jeff Nielson fired two scoreless innings out of the pen to close the game. Max Samson and Ethan Roberts spearheaded the offensive effort for the Blue Sox with multi-hit games. On Tuesday the Blue Sox face the Chill at the auxiliary field and on Wednesday the A’s play the Lumberjacks at the stadium at 10a.m.

The Power defeated the Chill 8-4 on Monday afternoon at Palm Springs Stadium. It was a pitcher’s duel through the first five innings, as both pitching staffs combined for 19 strikeouts entering the sixth inning, when the Power led 3-1.The Chill loaded the bases with nobody out against Johnny Vasquez, who nearly worked out of the jam unscathed. After striking out Malachi Austin for the first out, Vasquez induced the double-play groundball he was hoping for, but an error by the Power infield allowed two runs to score and tied the game at 3-3. The Power responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame. RBI singles from Giovanni
Camacho-Delgado, Jason Leon and Grayson Moeller pushed the lead to 8-3. The Chill added a run late on an RBI single from Jesse Robinson. Power outfielder Henry Labelle finished 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Teammate Tommy Barth scored a run in three of his four trips to the plate. The Power improved to 3-1 and will take on the Alberta Grizzly at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Palm Springs Stadium. The Chill dropped to 1-3 on the young season and will face the Washington Blue Sox at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the auxiliary field.
