The Northstars exploded for an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. They were aided by a Cole Brodnansky three-run homer deep to left field and a double from Taz Worrell. The Bombers came storming back with the big blow coming from a Steve Snowden two-run double to tie the game in the seventh. Both teams agreed to end the game in a rare tie after the back and forth affair.
The Toronto Rush and Oregon Lumberjacks came out hitting rockets all over Palm Springs Stadium for the first few innings. Both teams put up crooked numbers in four out of the first five half innings. Luke Fennelly of the Jacks had four hits and came a homerun shy of the cycle. Noah Lashley and Po-An Chen were able to settle in on the mound to go five and four innings respectively in their starts. The Jacks left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to get the big hit as they fall to the Rush 7-6. The Rush move to 2-1 after beating the Jacks in consecutive days as the Jacks fall to 1-2.
The Chill jumped out to a 3-0 lead after putting up single digit runs in each of the first three frames. They were aided by a Jeffery Pellegrinno double and three errors from the Chill defense. Shi-Hao Tung got the start for the Grizzly and he was excellent through the first four innings allowing only one run on no hits. In the fifth, he allowed a leadoff double to Jackson Murphy, who came around to score after a balk and two wild pitches. Tung was lifted from the game with the bases loaded and no one out and the Grizzly proceeded to score four runs in the fifth. That would be the difference in the game as the Grizzly held on to win 7-4 to improve to 2-1. The Chill fall to 1-2.
