COLONIALS REMAIN UNDEFEATED, NORTH STARS AND BOMBERS BREAK OUT

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — After five days of games, only one team remains undefeated.
The New York Colonials improved their record to 4-0 on Monday in thrilling fashion, as they scored two runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Toronto Rush by a score of 3-1.
Hector Cedano started for the Colonials and allowed one run while striking out five batters over five innings. After Cedano left with the score tied, relief pitcher Zac Sacoman came on and struck out four Toronto batters in his two innings of work to pick up the win.
New York received excellent production from the bottom of its lineup. Catcher Mason Morioka reached base twice and scored two runs for the Colonials while batting eighth, and pinch-hitter Pat Page drove in the two runs in the seventh inning from the nine spot.
In the morning game at Palm Springs Stadium, the Alberta Grizzly shut out the Washington Blue Sox by a score of 3-0. Grizzly starting pitcher Cristian Torres struck out 10 batters over six innings to pick up the win.
Grizzly catcher Zach Theulen handled the shutout, and also went 2-for-2 with two runs scored to lead the Grizzly to victory.
The afternoon contest at the main field saw the British Columbia Bombers rout the Coachella Valley Snowbirds by a score of 12-3.
Bombers outfielder Brandon Landanger led the offensive charge for British Columbia, as he went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and five runs batted in.
British Columbia pitcher Dominic Raia III picked up the win after pitching 2.1 innings in relief and allowing no earned runs.
The Canada A’s, who came into Monday as the only other undefeated team in the league, were defeated by the Manitoba North Stars 7-3 on the auxiliary field.
North Stars starting pitcher Dakota Freese struck out five batters over five innings to pick up the win. Manitoba right fielder Tom Nagy went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run to lead the North Stars offensively.
Brody Miller hit a three-run home run for the A’s in the defeat.
Dominant pitching helped the Palm Springs Chill defeat the Oregon Lumberjacks by a score of 2-0 on the auxiliary field.
Palm Springs’ pitching staff limited the Lumberjacks to one hit, an infield single by Oregon catcher Josh Davis.
Designated hitter Josh Eatherly was again a spark plug for the Chill at the top of the lineup, as he went 1-for-2 with one walk, one stolen base, and one run scored out of the leadoff spot. He is hitting .400 after four games.
